I know I’ve mentioned home organization a few times already, but you’ll have to patiently stay tuned for more because I really and truly believe it is the foundation of a healthy life. As a naturally messy person (ask any roommate I’ve ever had, to my shame), I only discovered my deep psychological need for physical, spatial orderliness AFTER I became a mother. C’est la vie, I guess. My theory of cleanliness (which is also, I believe, the enabling condition of productivity) also happens to be supported by clinical research.
So this week I want to share with you about the Fly Lady Cleaning Method–one of the most life-enhancing habits I’ve discovered on my personal journey from chaos to order. Her first four rules ring especially true for me:
- Keep your sink clean and shiny.
- Get dressed every morning, even if you don’t feel like it.
- Do your morning and before-bedtime routine everyday.
- Don’t allow yourself to be sidetracked by the computer.
Youtube videos will help for my auditory learning friends. Fly on, ladies!
